Handicap series starts this week.
It is being conducted on Concept2 ergos, so you need access to one in order to enter.
(We cannot yet race on water.)
Novices
You can elect to row 800m or 2000m. This is to make it easier for those who regard themselves as "novices".
If your 5000m and 7000m times don't look like a novice, stick to 2000m, because the handicapper will slaughter you if you really shouldn't be rowing novice.
If you do want to be "novice", email this address Sunday night at the latest, or you will be assigned to 2000m.
Everybody
We will now give all of you a base time for 2000m (or 800) and set up heats on this basis. These heats will have offset times just like in the real world. These should be published by Tuesday night (week one we might be a bit late...)
All you have to do is set a 2000m (or 800m) workout on your ergo, do it and email your time before noon on Saturday June 20.
In the real world, you would start rowing at your offset time. In this competition we will add your offset to the time you report to calculate who "won" the heat. If this sounds complicated, don't worry; all will be obvious when the results are published and for now all you have to do is report your 2000m (or 800m) time.
We will assume you are racing unless you email in a cancellation by Sunday night. If you are racing, you don't need to confirm.
OK?
Round the Island results are on Results page
Good work all you islanders!
